Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter (natural or regular)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-Ins:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Cream Butter, Peanut Butter, and Sugars
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
Step 4: Add Egg and Vanilla
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Step 5: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing.
Step 6: Fold in Chocolate Chips
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or spoon.
Step 7: Scoop the Dough
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Step 8: Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will set as they cool.
Step 9: Cool
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
