Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, cornstarch, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until fully combined and smooth.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
  • Once the gravy begins to thicken (after about 5-7 minutes), reduce the heat to low.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract, then continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes until the gravy reaches your desired thickness.
  • Remove the gravy from the heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
  • Pour the chocolate gravy over warm biscuits and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a richer gravy, you can substitute whole milk with heavy cream or a mixture of milk and cream.
