Ingredients

Scale

For the Casserole:

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 flour tortillas (soft taco-sized)
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) chili (with or without beans)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or cooking spray (for greasing the dish)

Optional Toppings:

  • Diced onions
  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Sour cream
  • Mustard or ketchup

Instructions

Prepare the Casserole:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

  2. Assemble the Hot Dogs:
Wrap each hot dog in a tortilla and place them seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.

  3. Add the Chili:
Pour the chili evenly over the wrapped hot dogs, ensuring they are fully covered.

  4. Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the chili.

  5. Bake:
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

Serve:

  1. Garnish and Enjoy:
Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes, then top with diced onions, jalapeños, or your favorite toppings. Serve warm with a side of fries or a crisp salad!

Notes

  • Swap out flour tortillas for low-carb or whole-wheat options if desired.
  • For a spicier casserole, use spicy chili or add hot sauce to the chili before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
